Pastor Josh:I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service on December 22nd here at Middletown Baptist Church.
Pastor Josh:For the month of December, we've been celebrating the gifts of God.
Pastor Josh:The number one gift that we are excited about is the gift of salvation.
Pastor Josh:But what we're going to be studying for the next two weeks here at Middletown Baptist Church is the idea of God gifting us opportunities to serve within our lives.
Pastor Josh:And so these are seen through the supernatural gifts that God gives us called the spiritual gifts.
Pastor Josh:And we're specifically going to be talking about those gifts seen in Romans chapter 12.
Pastor Josh:We call these the ministering gifts or the service gifts.
Pastor Josh:In Romans chapter 12.
Pastor Josh:It tells us that there is an opportunity for all believers to receive this gift of God.
Pastor Josh:And it says that it's given by God's grace.
Pastor Josh:It's given according to God's will in our life, and we are all part of the body, but we are different in our jobs as believers within that body.
Pastor Josh:And so we're going to be studying this week what it means to have a gift.
Pastor Josh:And then number two, what does it mean for us to have a specific gift and use that within the midst of our Christian life here in the time that God gives us?
Pastor Josh: nd here at: Pastor Josh:But we are excited to talk about the gifts that God gives us and also the way that we can give gifts back to him and give gifts to others around us.
Pastor Josh:And so the Bible speaks of it's better to give than receive.
Pastor Josh:And so as God has gifted us these gifts, First Peter, chapter four tells us that we are to turn around and serve other people.
Pastor Josh:This is all about exalting the name of Jesus Christ, furthering the truth of the gospel.
